Description: A two story house with six private bedroom/bath units.
Each unit is fully furnished with two extra long twin beds, full
size sofa bed, telephone, TV, linens, and walk-in closet. Shared
space includes kitchen with individual pantry lockers, living areas,
and laundry.

Location: One-half mile south of the Medical Center
Description: Each unit consits of a one bedroom, fully furnished
apartment constructed specifically for medical center patients.
Each apartment includes twin beds and a sofa-bed, a kitchen, private
bath and TV. Washer and Dryer, phone, and a community room are in
the complex. A maximum of four guests are permitted per unit. There
is a resident manager on the premises and other volunteers during
daytime hours.
Telephone Availability: Public phones available. Private phone hookups
available at resident's expense.
Public Transportation Availability: Apartments are on a shuttle
bus line.

The Hospitality Apartment ministry is supported by: Covenant, Park
Place, and West University Baptist Churche; Bethany, First Houston,
First Pasadena, Northwood, Beaumont, and Spring Branch Christian
Churches; Bering Drive and Southwest Central Churches of Christ;
Deer Park, First Pasadena, and St. Luke's Methodist Churches; First,
Grace, St. Andrew's, and St. Philip Presbyterian Churches; and Houston
First Church of God, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Christ the King
Lutheran Church, and Emerson Unitarian Church.
The apartments listed above are provided to patients and their families
in The Texas Medical Center to assist with the costs not covered
by insurance during extended stays in Houston. Please do not call
if you either expect to stay less than two weeks or have insurance
coverage for housing. If you need financial assistance for shorter
stays, please contact Lifeline´s Compassionate Touch program.
Congregations
throughout the Greater Houston Area have joined in an effort to
make affordable apartments available to extended stay patients and
their families. Each organization listed below maintains its own
waiting list. Therefore, it is to your advantage to call each organization
individually.
These units
are constantly occupied. Organizations do not hold apartments empty
on "reservation." All operate on a space-available policy
. If you are notified that an apartment is open, be prepared to
give an immediate reply. Patients may call ahead to get on the waiting
lists.
All apartments
listed are fully furnished, modern and spotless. They include linens,
kitchen utensils, and a television. Telephone services vary from
one provider to another. Rental fees include all utilities.
